Klipsch S4i In-Ear Headset With Mic.

Many say a mobile phone is a very personal thing. And increasingly the headphones you choose to go with your smart phone is even more so. Throughout the life span of my iPhone 3 & 3G I'd been using a pair of Sennheiser MM50ip's. Well to be more accurate, several pairs of MM50ip's. For while the sound quality and built in microphone produced good quality results, the build quality left a lot to be desired. On average, each pair had a life cycle of approximately three months.

So when the iPhone 4 arrived, I decided it was time to find a new pair of headphones with built in microphone. And after much research I decided on the Klipsch S4i's. At £89.99 (RRP) they are neither the cheapest nor most expensive option. But they've proved a solid choice.

Everything about the S4i's speak of quality, from the packaging, supplied accessories to the sound and build quality. They produce a solid stereo image and a respectable bass response. The build quality is second to none and a real step on from the Sennheiser MM50ip's. The integrated 3 button remote wasn't something I was looking for but not sure I'd want to live without it now. The built in microphone produces very good sound quality in a variety of environments and performs very well with the iPhone's voice control function.

We're often asked, here at The MacDoctor, for iPhone and iPod accessory advice. And I'd recommend the Klipsch S4i's without reservation. A truly class act.
